The Massachusetts Correctional Institution, Framingham, houses females sentenced to imprisonment, awaiting trial, or committed by the courts for alcohol or substance abuse treatment (MGLA c 125, s 16; c 123, s 35). The superintendent is responsible for administering the facility. Institutional policy directives are created and distributed by the superintendent to notify staff of specific policy resolutions, implementation of new procedures and examinations, or health issues.
